This past June, Southern New Hampshire Health signed a Letter of Intent with Elliot Health System in Manchester, NH, to begin the process of formal, exclusive discussions to form a new regional health care system. For more than 125 years, our organization has served greater Nashua, growing and adapting to meet the changing needs of our community. Looking ahead, we are faced with a number of changes that we will be better positioned to address through close collaboration and resource coordination with a regional partner. These changes include: (1) addressing the care needs of an aging population, (2) changes in healthcare financing, and (3) rapid technological advancements within the industry.
The formation of a regional system would enable us to collaborate in planning of clinical programs, share the costs of technological infrastructure, and engage in shared learning, thereby improving access, quality and value across the region, together serving half a million residents of Southern New Hampshire.
